This notice explains how the Taraba State Bureau of Public Procurement ("we", "the Bureau") collects, uses, stores and protects personal and corporate information submitted through this portal. It is provided in the interest of transparency and in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and good international data-protection practice.
1. Information we collect
When contractors register and use the portal we collect: company details (name, registration number, tax identification number, address), contact details of company representatives (name, email, phone), uploaded compliance documents, bid and contract records, and payment records including evidence of payment. For portal users employed by government agencies we collect name, official email, role and activity logs.
2. How we use it
Information is used solely to operate the procurement process: verifying and registering contractors, managing tenders and bids, awarding and monitoring contracts, processing registration and renewal payments, and meeting statutory transparency and audit obligations. We do not sell personal data or use it for unrelated marketing.
3. Public transparency
Certain procurement information is published on the public transparency portal as required by the Taraba State Public Procurement Law — for example tender notices, contract awards and aggregate spending. Confidential commercial information and personal contact details are not published.
4. Storage and security
Data is stored on secured servers. Access is restricted by role, all sensitive actions are recorded in an audit trail, passwords are stored using one-way encryption, and uploaded documents are held outside the public web area and released only to authorised users. Payment card details are processed by licensed payment providers (Paystack, Flutterwave) and are not stored on this portal.
5. Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, or raise a concern about how your data is handled. Contact the Bureau using the details on the official Taraba State Government website.
6. Retention
Procurement and financial records are retained for the periods required by public-sector record-keeping and audit rules. Account activity logs are retained to support security and accountability.
7. Cookies and sessions
The portal uses a single essential session cookie to keep you signed in securely. It is not used for advertising or third-party tracking.
