The Government of Taraba State is committed to making this portal usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
Measures we take
- Every page provides a "Skip to main content" link for keyboard users.
- The site can be operated with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
- Pages use proper landmark regions (banner, navigation, main, footer) and headings so screen readers can navigate them.
- Decorative icons are hidden from assistive technology; meaningful controls have text labels.
- Colour is not used as the only way of conveying information, and text colours are chosen for adequate contrast.
- The layout adapts to small screens and supports browser zoom and the "reduced motion" preference.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is treated as continuous: as new features are added they are checked against the same standard. Some uploaded documents (such as contractor-supplied PDFs) may not yet be fully accessible; we can provide the information in them on request.
